3D Camera Technology: Capturing the Depth of Our Carmelite Journey

In our life as Discalced Carmelite Seculars of the Blessed Trinity Community, we are called to a "contemplative orientation." As we study the reformers St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross, we learn that the spiritual life is not flat or one-dimensional; it has immense depth, interiority, and a "third dimension" of the soul. While we prioritize the interior castle of the heart, we can find a beautiful parallel in how a 3D Camera captures the world—offering a fuller, more immersive perspective that mirrors our desire to see the world through the eyes of faith.

Our community often gathers at St. Stephen the Martyr in Renton to share in charity and develop our fraternity. Whether we are celebrating the Solemnity of St. John of the Cross or a memorial for St. Maria Maravillas of Jesus, these moments are milestones in our secular vocation. On google maps the surface clearing/power lines follow the exact course of the tunnel - funny that their course might be tied to that of the tunnel hundreds of feet below. There must be a spiritual lesson in that lol!

Our thanks be to God for Fr. Ed who took the lead on the Feast of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, bringing Jesus' Real Presence to us as God's amazing creation served as a backdrop.

First Friday at the Falls 6/4/21

Our silent hike up to Wallace Falls was peaceful and beautiful as one might expect. Before we set out, Fr. Bloom (Mary Ann and Allan's priest at St. Mary of the Valley in Monroe) gave us a few things to contemplate during a beautiful mass and blessing. Brother Mark reiterated some important points right before our hike and on the way back we enjoyed pleasant conversation ending in prayer. Our thanks to Br. Mark and praise God for the beautiful weather and company.

Today's Hike

Today's hikers were treated to a brilliant view from the top of Cedar Mountain. It was chilly, but I don't think anyone was cold by the time we got to the top!

Fr. Ed led the way. With a mixture of prayer, fellowship, discussion, and natural beauty, it was a spirit-filled morning.
