Stanwood - MaryAnn Therese Wolfe (Nolan) passed away peacefully on June 20th with her son, Greg, at her side. MaryAnn was born on April 2, 1933, in Ironwood, Michigan. She had just recently turned 90 years old at the time of her passing. Her father was Leo Earl Nolan Sr., and her mother was Gertrude Mary Nolan Ward.


She married Michael Lawrence (Larry) Tuohy and bore three children: Mark, Christopher, and Greg. Her husband, Larry Tuohy died in an unfortunate accident in the hospital at the age of 24 leaving MaryAnn a widow with three small children. MaryAnn worked diligently to raise her three boys in Mt. Angel and attended college to become a schoolteacher, earning her bachelor's degree and taking master level classes. She worked at the library in Mt. Angel Abby where she met her future husband, George J. Wolfe. In 1969, she married George J. Wolfe and had two lovely daughters, Tina, and Theresa Wolfe. They raised their family on Mercer Island and Bellevue.


MaryAnn is preceded in death by her two husbands;' Larry Tuohy and George J. Wolfe, three children; Mark Tuohy, Tina Wolfe, and Theresa Wolfe Manglona, two grandchildren, Chad Tuohy, and Sean Tuohy, five brothers; Leo, Robert, Raymond, Ward, Bernard and one sister; Margaret (Peggy). She is survived by her two sons, Christopher and Greg Tuohy, her son-in-law Kelly Manglona, her daughters-in-law Liz Tuohy, and Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, and 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.


MaryAnn was a loving wife and mother and devoted to the Catholic Church and the Carmelite Order until her stroke on Mother's Day 2023. MaryAnn was also a devoted teacher and up to the time of her stroke was teaching piano to four young children weekly. She was continually active, with a clear mind and a loving heart. She was an OCDS member of the Blessed Trinity Community, a member of Pro Life, Legion of Mary Auxiliary.


We will miss the presence of MaryAnn in our lives, her prayerful and grateful attitude and positive role modeling. We all pray for her sweet transition to Heaven and look forward to the day that each of us will join her and the rest of the family already in heaven. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Stanwood Food Bank or a food bank of your choice.


Services are on Saturday, June 24th at 2:00pm, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 26900 78th Ave NW, Stanwood, WA 98292 phone: 360.629.3737. Grave side services will be announced.
